Coco Gauff to bear Team U.S.A. flag in Olympic Ceremony

Gauff chosen to usher in Team U.S.A. along side LeBron James for Paris 2024 opening ceremony.

The Atlanta native and No. 2 in world of women’s tennis, will compete in singles, mixed doubles, and a women’s doubles match with teammate Jessica Pegula.

“I never thought in a million years I would have the honor of carrying the American flag for Team USA in the Opening Ceremony,” said Gauff. “I just want to say thank you to my fellow Team USA Olympians/athletes for voting and choosing me for this incredible honor to be the flag bearer for the opening ceremony. Thank you so much. I’m incredibly honored,” she added.

Atlanta serves a week of star-studded tennis at the Atlanta Open 2023.

The 2023 Atlanta Open that captivated tennis enthusiasts with its high-stakes matches, dramatic upsets, and inspiring performances. Held at the Atlantic Station in Atlanta, Georgia, the tournament ran from July 22 to July 30, drawing top talent from the ATP tour and providing fans with a week of blazing hot tennis action.

The tournament featured a stellar lineup of players, including seasoned veterans and rising stars. Notable participants included defending champion Alex de Minaur, American favorite John Isner, and the dynamic Australian Nick Kyrgios.
