Not Enough Kindness

— The Golden Rule — 
“Do unto others, as you’d want others to do unto you.”

Since when did kindness become a lost art? I’m beginning to see acts of kindness praised, glorified, digitally documented, and even overly appreciated. “Overly appreciated” in the sense where people are surprised or confused on why someone is doing something nice for them. Have we become so out of touch or removed from such instinctual human habits that the simplest gestures become the highlights of our days? Not sure about you, but I think it’s pretty normal to just be kind, do favors, or show appreciation to the people you know and even those you don’t. Movie Review: Happytime Murders 3/5 Stars

Mismarketed Puppet Film a Decent Crime Drama, With Raunch

3 out of 5 stars (Average)

The Hapytime Murders is by far the most heavily mismarketed film of 2018.  Advertised as a wild and raunchy comedy, the film is actually a decent crime drama with raunchy humor that showcases that puppets can do far more in movies than sing to your kids.  However, people who want a unique (if flawed) crime drama with some ribald humor will likely be impressed at the immaculate puppetry on display here, along with a solid human cast that plays surprisingly well off of their stuffed cast members.  The Happytime Murders is a good step in legitimizing puppetry as adult entertainment, despite a few bad jokes and some questionable script decisions.  It’s not as good as it could be, but my God, if it couldn’t be a lot worse. Did We Not Get Real? Song of the Summer 2018

In 2017, we had what was seemingly a clear-cut winner for hottest song of the summer with “Bodak Yellow” by last year’s rising star, Cardi B. However, within this inning, we had a strong lineup up full of heavy hitters. Many artists got on base. We saw a few strikeouts, many were walked, and we even saw some hits. In June, we even had bases loaded, but unfortunately, I don’t know if anybody delivered a jam that I can classify as a home run. Crushing the the ball out of the park.
